How to Set Up Direct Online Restaurant Reservations
A direct reservation link sends guests to your restaurant's booking page. Start with accurate availability and booking conditions, test the complete flow on a phone, then share the link through the channels you control.

Prepare the restaurant page
Add the name, location, menu and images guests need to recognize the restaurant. Check that the information reflects the venue they will visit. Set up the tables and floor-plan spaces before promoting a booking link; an attractive page does not compensate for incorrect bookable capacity.
In GetReserve, a restaurant page connects venue information to its booking flow. A hosted link is enough to send guests there. External iframe embedding and a Reserve with Google integration are not verified product capabilities, so do not make them part of the setup promise.
Choose rules the team can support
Decide the default visit duration, largest online party size, minimum booking notice and how far ahead guests may book. Choose whether reservations are automatically confirmed or await staff confirmation. Decide whether guests may choose a table and explain the cancellation window.
Review the rules with the staff who answer calls and welcome guests. Phone bookings and walk-ins should be reflected in the same reservation book rather than treated as an invisible exception to online availability. GetReserve does not collect deposits or prepaid menu payments.
Test before changing public links
Use an approved test booking and remove or cancel it after the check so it does not block real inventory. Test a typical party size and a busy slot, and verify that a booking follows the confirmation rules you chose. These checks are a setup checklist, not a guarantee that every device or email provider behaves identically.
- Open the restaurant page on a narrow phone screen.
- Choose a date, time and party size; check table selection when enabled.
- Review the conditions and submit an approved test booking.
- Check its status in the staff reservation book and review the guest confirmation.
- Follow the booking-code change or cancellation path within the allowed window.
- Check what happens when a requested slot is full, including waitlist entry where available.
Choose one authoritative book and review outcomes
Before switching providers, account for future bookings already accepted and agree which system the team will use for each service. GetReserve does not promise automatic imports or two-way synchronization with a previous reservation provider. Keep existing commitments visible during the handover.
After launch, review bookings, cancellations, no-shows and waitlist joins. For website conversion analysis, distinguish restaurant guest bookings from restaurant-owner signups. If you compare direct and marketplace channels, use actual source data rather than assuming a shared booking link proves where every guest originally discovered the restaurant.
Questions and answers
Do I need to rebuild my restaurant website to use GetReserve?
No. You can add a link to your hosted GetReserve restaurant page. Check the actual link destination and booking flow before promoting it.
Is a Google Business Profile booking link a Reserve with Google integration?
No. A link directs guests to another page. An integrated booking provider connection is a different capability; GetReserve does not claim that integration.
Can I embed a GetReserve booking form with an iframe?
An external iframe embedding flow has not been verified in the current product. Use the hosted restaurant page and reservation link rather than assuming an embed integration is available.
